Memorial Day + Weekend Racing Recap
Weekend Racing Recap
This weekend was jam-packed with so much racing going on!
You had the NTT Indy Car Indianapolis 500 and the NASCAR Coca-Cola 600. We are going to go ahead and break down both of those races.
Indy 500 recap
The Indy 500 was more than exciting. Tbh if you missed this race you were missing out! The racing was phenomenal! There were quite a few cautions and even a red flag that was thrown way too late. I feel the officials were not on their game as they should have been. As for fave drivers, my fave driver, Pato O’ward wrecked out with only 7 laps to go! 😢
That last lap tho!
Josef Newgarden wins finally after 12 attempts at the Indy 500! Congrats to him and his wife Ashley! This was a well-deserved moment!
NASCAR Coca-Cola 600 recap
Now you all know that the NASCAR Coca-Cola 600 was supposed to be on the same day as the Indy 500 but due to a rain delay, the race was postponed until yesterday which was Memorial Day.
The amazing thing that I love about the Coca-Cola 600 is that on every driver’s car is a name of a specific man or woman that was in the military that unfortunately lost their life. That’s what makes this race so important is that we remember them on Memorial Day.
Tbh I didn’t get a chance to watch the race yesterday due to illness. I was more worried about being in my bed and sleeping but I am glad that Ryan Blaney was able to be in victory lane!
Congrats to him! Also congrats to Team Penske for dominating this weekend in both the Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600! Josef and Ryan both deserved these wins!
Memorial Day
In honor of all the men and women that sacrificed their lives, here at
Race Wife Unfiltered we salute you!
Even though yesterday was Memorial Day and not Veteran’s Day, I do want to mention that it is best to always support our veterans before it is too late, and then all we have is the memories of them. This is why I want to mention a special non-profit organization, Creativets.
They help empower wounded vets through music and the arts. This is such an amazing program and we should always find a way to help veterans now before they become an afterthought.
Guest of the week
This week’s guest is a pro-late model racer from Tennessee that is making a name for herself and was also a part of the NASCAR Drive for Diversity program.
